The Shropshire Way 80k Festival has become a mainstay of the calendar of events at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms, and the date of the 2026 Shropshire Way 80 event has been announced – Saturday 18th to Sunday 19th April 2026.
This important event in the UK running and marathon calendar typically has over 700 participants all departing from the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in a series of staggered starts depending on the particular event.
In previous years there have been four events within the Shropshire Way 80K Festival:
The Shropshire Way 80K – a 80km/ 50 mile in 24 hours route through Shropshire
The Mammothon – a full distance 42km trail marathon with a 12 hour time limit
The Half-Mammothon – an off-road 21km half marathon with a 6-hour time limit
The Tusker’s 10K – an off-road 10km run or walk with a 4-hour time limit
The Shropshire Way 80k Festival raises funds for Grow Cook Learn which operates the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre – and all the money raised from the 2026 event will support the delivery of the charity’s education programme – teaching children from inner city areas about how their food is grown.
