The Heart of Wales Line

Merinda

I’m your host at Folly View – the cleanest and best value self-catering accommodation in South Shropshire

The Heart of Wales Line

The Heart of Wales Line starts from Craven Arms and goes all the way to Swansea.

Craven Arms Railway Station is within walking distance of Folly View and the Heart of Wales Line goes down the back of the fields behind us.

I have only been as far as Knucklas on this line for Folk down the Track.

There are many stations on the way to Swansea. Some of these are halt stops, where you ask for a certain stop or if wanting to get on, put your hand out to stop the train.

It is a relaxing way to view the beautiful countryside and the changing of the seasons.

Knighton would be a great place to disembark as Offas Dyke goes through Knighton. There is the Offas Dyke Centre to visit as well as a Museum and two motto and Bailey’s.

Llandrindod Wells is another place to visit with it’s Bicycle Museum,

There is interesting architecture related to it being a Spa town.

Built Wells has some interesting shops and on the outskirts there is the Welsh Showground, venue of many different Fairs and Wonderwool.

Walks can be done from the Stations along the Heart of Wales Line and there is a Heart of Wales Walk.

One day, when we have nothing else to do, we will do the Heart of Wales Line.
