The Shrewsbury Food Festival is considered to be one of the best events of its kind in the UK and returns for its seventh year on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June 2019.
The festival features:

  • more than 200 food, drink and craft exhibitors
  • two live music stages
  • a huge kids activity area
  • talks and demonstrations from the country’s best chefs
  • a hands-on cookery school
  • kids cookery

Shrewsbury Folk Festival Logo

The annual Shrewsbury Folk Festival returns to the West Midlands Showground in Shrewsbury over the August Bank Holiday weekend commencing Friday 23rd August 2019 and runs through to Bank Holiday Monday 26th August 2019.

The festival prides itself on the eclectic line-up of performers from across the UK and features:

  • four main music stages
  • a dance tent with ceilidhs, workshops and dance shows
  • a craft fair
  • a food village
  • real ale, prosecco and cocktail bars

At the time of writing the line-up was still being developed, but some highlights already announced include:

The 2018 Oktoberfest claimed to be the biggest party in Shropshire, and the organisers promise that Shropshire Oktoberfest 2019 will be even better.

This festival returns to Quarry park and around Shrewsbury on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th October 2019.

The Shropshire Oktoberfest 2019 will feature:

  • the region’s top brewers
  • the best beers
  • the best music in the best venue
  • a gin den
  • a prosecco parlour
  • a lager bar
  • and a comedy club

  • BBC Folk Award winner Daoirí Farrell

  • The Remnant Kings

The festival has become one of the leading folk events in the UK with an attendance of over 7,000 many of whom return year after year.

Following the huge success of the first Shropshire Oktoberfest in 2017, this festival returns on Friday 5th October, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018.

Shropshire Oktoberfest 2017

There is a new edition to the festival calendar in Shropshire – Shropshire Oktoberfest 2017.

The festival is being held on the 6th – 8th October 2017 in Quarry Park, Shrewsbury.

The ingredients of this new festival include:

  • Ale – over 150 real ales from brewers across the SIBA Wales and West region
  • Lager – if you prefer lager to real ale then visit the Wye Valley Lager Bar which will be serving local lagers from across the region
  • Cider and Perry – a range of producers will be serving apple and pear juice, applesecco, cider and perry
  • Gin and Rum – a gin tent offering a Tasting Theatre and cocktails, and a Rum Shack
  • Comedy Club – featuring some international acts
  • Music – including Oompah bands and other Shropshire talent
  • Street Food – alongside a Farmer’s Market
